The direct predecessor of Royal London Society was founded in 1824 and granted the ‘Royal’ title 50 years later by Queen Victoria in 1874.
It is one of the oldest charities in the country concerned with the welfare of serving prisoners, ex-offenders and their families.
Royal London Society aims to equip men and women with a positive approach to finding suitable and sustainable employment and the promotion of relevant training and education for ex-offenders through its EaST Project.
The Society provides grants to serving prisoners (Download available), those recently released and those under supervision living or intending to live in Greater London and Home Counties. These grants are aimed at providing sustainable employment through the provision of training, acquisition of skills, tools of trade or suitable qualifications and some grants are of a therapeutic nature.
The Society also provides grants to support projects that fall within the objectives of the Society.
